Student Art Exhibition

Forget the grey skies of March - exhibitions this April and May at the Muscatine Art Center will feature plenty of color! Muscatine 4th and 5th graders have each contributed a work of art to showcase in the student art exhibition. Clay “totem” spoons, animal masks, self-portraits, landscapes, Louise Nevelson inspired assemblages, and more are on view in the Stanley Gallery from April 6th through May 5th.

Over the last several months, the Muscatine Art Center staff has worked with team of local art teachers to prepare for the exhibition. Art teachers Nancy Foxen, Danielle Holder, Wendy Waltert Stansbery, Kristin Hazelett, Jess Hill, and Mary Alice Sessler have made the exhibition possible.

An opening reception will be held on Sunday, April 7th from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. The Muscatine Children’s Choir will perform from 2 to 2:30 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public, and all are encouraged to congratulate local students on their creativity and dedication to developing their artistic skills.

Photos on the card include the art of Abigail Mohror, Levi Butzen, Chase Miller, Sanibel Duncan, and Kate Jensen.
