Artist Workshops for Kids with Miss Julie - Faith Ringgold - October 19
This free class is open to kids ages 7 to 14 and their families. Please register by October 18 by calling the Muscatine Art Center at 563-263-8282.
Faith Ringgold was an American painter, author, mixed media sculptor, performance artist, and activist, perhaps best known for her narrative quilts. She was the author of 17 children’s books, including ‘Tar Beach ‘ based on her quilt story by the same name. Celebrate Faith’s artistic legacy by creating a story project of your own.
In the “Artist Workshops for Kids”, formerly known as “Kids Saturday Workshops”, kids can join Miss Julie to create their own masterpieces! In these free workshops, kids can learn about the lives and works of famous artists from around the world and recreate a project in their style. Throughout the year there will be additional classes where we will learn about other cultures, celebrate different holidays, and more!
